The crystal violet is a dye that accumulates in the cell nucleus thus is often used in cell culture to determine concentration of cells by estimating nuclei numbers. CESCO’s CVD Nucleus Count Kit contains Tween detergent and citric acid, making the cell burst (lyze cell membrane) so that the CVD can stain the nucleus and thus concentration of cells can be determined using a microscope.
